About lake

Churchlake Folyas

Folyas village is easily accessible by car from Debrecen on the 33, 35 highwayand  on the M3 motorway. The beautiful lake system is located on the brink of  thevillage that consists of three lakes with 0,3; 0,8 and 2,7 hectares. The depth  of the lakes are between 1 and 3 meters. The bottom is not sticky and the  shore is reedy in patches. The water is full of fishes. Typical species of fishes:
carp, grass carp, bighead carp, curcian carp, bream, wels catfish, african catfish, zander, pike, trout.
Prominent catches: carp 17 kg, bighead carp 12 kg, grass carp 16 kg, wels catfish 31 kg.

The lakes are free from brown bullhead. We can practise ledgering and float fishing beside the sportfishing methods,furthermore the number of rods depends on the dayticket. Feeding can be restricted. In the wintertime the ice-fishing is allowed, which is requied to be discussed with the operator such as the night-fishing on weekdays.

The owners undertake to organize full-scale family and friendly gathering. We can camp out on the shore of the lakes particularly on weekends but after  discussion on other dates as well. Who do not want to go angling it can be refreshment going to the beach with medicinal waters in Polgarand it is worth tasting the fish dishes in the fishermen's tavern in Tiszacsege or looking at the Castle Vay.

About village Folyás

The name of Folyás can be found even in some documents from the Middle Ages. As a manor-house it was included int he certificates of the Eger Chapter as a small farming centre. The settlement is very characteristic to the Great Plain, an agricultural village int he northern corner of Hajdú-Bihar County, surrounded by the River Tisza and the Hortobágy.
In this area flows the Selypes, which once upon a time was an important fishing place. An important site of discovery from the Copper Age was unearthed by the banks of this creek, which is known as the „Tiszapolgár culture”. This early Copper Age population probably had settled int he first part of the III. century before Christ – among others – in the area of Polgár.
Int he outskirts of the village, a ruined church as the memento of the Second Word War is situated alond the public road. One of the biggest battle, known as the Debrecen- or Hortobágy tank battle (9th October 1944.) occured heren int he vicinity of Folyás. The church, built by the order of grand provost Endre Pánthy in 1892, became the victim of this battle.
The best recreation activity int he village and in its neighbourhood is angling, even the night-time angling during the summer season. The Western-canal and the adjacent fish-ponds offer various possibilities for the anglers or the people seeking loneloness ont he waterside. The ponds are intensively introduced with fish thus many kind of them can be catched.
